"El Camino"

Xavier Llonch, guitar player and singer, formed the Flamenco Group "El Camino".
He promotes and spreads the Art of Flamenco through shows,
animations, workshops and classes.

Xavier Llonch was born in France in 1967, son to a spanish father and a french mother.
At an early age he joined the music community, in particular that of the Flamenco. He used to follow his father to shows held at spanish emigrant gatherings in France.
He has dedicated his life to the apprenticeship of Flamenco: since the age of 17 he has been learning flamenco, both as a singer and as a guitar player. Xavier often goes to Spain to enhance his experience by learning from some of the traditional figures of spanish flamenco.
In 1991 he travels to Portugal and begin his work in Algarve. There he developed his artistic career, by performing at several tourist resorts, art galleries, varied audiences and summer cultural events. Since 2004 he has been living and working in Lisbon.
In 1992 he begins working with the Seville dancer Gracia Diaz, and accompanies her with guitar and singing. They are now partners in his shows, classes and public presentations. In 2002, in this line of work, Xavier begins his professional partnership with the Escola de Flamenco da Sociedade Recreativa e Artística de Faro.
Presently, Xavier accompanies María José Navarro's flamenco classes at Centro Galego de Lisboa.
Throughout all these years Xavier has always kept close contact with Seville musicians, in order to develop his knowledge of flamenco culture.

*Learning with Professor Jorge Gomez (Saint Tropez).
*Guitar classes in the Manolo Marín Academy (Seville).
*Guitar classes and accompaniment of dancing classes in José Galván Academy (Seville).
* Accompaniment of dancing classes of Javier Cruz (Seville).
*Attending conservatory classes in Tavira with Professor João Miguel Cunha.
Teaching Experience
Xavier Llonch has also dedicated his life to teaching flamenco guitar and singing.
In 2000 he participated in a project which consisted in teaching children how to play the guitar, promoted by the council of Vila Real de Santo António
In 2001 and 2002 Xavier Llonch worked with the council of S.Br´ss in order to integrate the gipsy community in the life of that city. For that propose, he taught flamenco guitar and singing to gypsies, both children and adults. As a consequence of this work, he presented a show to the community of S. Brás at the Feira das Artes de S.Brás in 2001 and in Feira da Serra in 2002.
Xavier has also taught guitar in Tavira, Vila Real or Faro, and in cultural institutions, like Associação da Juventude de Faro or Sociedade Recreativa dos Artistas.
Xavier Llonch now teaches in Lisbon.
